Need a new or updated estate plan? Dealing with a death in the family?  In either case – planning or probate – you need counsel from an attorney you trust.

I have devoted more than 30 years to helping people in Fort Worth, Dallas and surrounding communities in the DFW area. My practice has focused on matters related to the two primary areas of law — Estate Planning and Probate — in which trusted advice and counsel are most needed.

When you consider working with an attorney, you should expect to benefit from their training and experience. He should help you identify potential issues and concerns before they happen – including some you never knew existed – and offer solutions to keep them from happening. Your plan should be guided and shaped with the benefit of practical experience from a lawyer whose primary day-to-day attention is on solving the complexities associated with the care and preservation of your wealth. I embrace my role in the planning process, which is to get to know you and your family, ask the questions that I know need to be answered, and listen to understand your needs, goals, and desires; especially those challenges and issues of life that keep you awake at night. As I come to understand the problems you face and the protection you need, I bring my experience and training to bear, guiding you to help make the best possible decisions for you and your loved ones.

I have been privileged to develop lasting relationships with clients from all walks of life. I’ve seen common threads develop among people who are otherwise as different as night and day. Whether their assets are worth relatively little or a lot, very few people see themselves as truly wealthy. Most operate under the misconception that estate planning is only for the wealthiest families. If you have entertained that same thought, then consider this:

Whose family can afford to waste money on lawyers and court proceedings? Yours, or Bill Gates’ family? Your spouse, or Mark Cuban’s? Your children, or Warren Buffet’s?  Isn’t having a safe and efficient plan to protect your property and avoid unnecessary taxes and lawsuits MORE IMPORTANT for you and me than it is for a Fortune 500 CEO?

I believe it is. So my estate planning system is designed to arrive at the most efficient way to hold and protect your hard-earned savings. The plans we generate, in cooperation with you and your other financial advisors, provide solutions that overcome every obstacle and achieve every one of your goals – while saving every possible attorney’s fee, tax, and administrative cost possible. Later, when your plan is in place, I don’t abandon our relationship.

Our Client Care Program, WealthCare 365, provides for ongoing review and updates of your initial plan – helping you adjust to the changes every family faces, and keeping your plan current in the face of changes in tax law.  The goal is to identify and solve potential problems before they happen and to ensure that, when you really need your plan to be ready to work, it will be.

My personal partner in this journey is Corinne Breshears, the love of my life and my wife of 30 years.  Together we have raised two boys, both Aledo Bearcats, and now enjoy doting on our daughters-in-law and our two grandchildren, who are now six and three years old.  Corinne and I are heavily involved in the Aledo and surrounding East Parker County communities, and are actively engaged in missions to Cambodia, Portugal, and other countries through The Crossing in Aledo, Texas, our home church since 2007.

In my spare time, I have become a Certified Sports Public Address Announcer, and serve as the voice of Aledo Bearcat baseball.  I also enjoy acting as the master of ceremonies for other special events for the Aledo Independent School District.

And, on occasion, I am asked to speak to colleagues on various estate planning, asset protection, and related topics at continuing education seminars, workshops, and other meetings.

If you are in search for an experienced estate planning attorney you can trust, I would love to meet you. Look for the contact form on this page and elsewhere around my website, and let me know you want to get together. I can promise you will be glad you did.  From our first meeting to our last, you will see that ours is a different kind of law firm; a modern estate planning firm focused on designing plans that are tailored to fit you and your family.

If you are a wealth manager, investment advisor, financial counselor, insurance professional, or accountant without an estate planning professional you can trust to care for your clients, please give me the opportunity to describe how our process can add significant value to your practice.  Your clients will thank you for introducing them to me.

A modern, systems approach … guided by experienced, thoughtful counsel.  With one goal, to help you create plans you deserve, based on counsel you can trust. That’s my mission.
